From 21 to 26 April 2026, the Italian Ministry of Culture took part for the first time in the Milan Salone del Mobile with the MADE IN MiC project, an initiative aimed at promoting Italy’s cultural heritage through contemporary design while introducing a new vision of museum merchandising.

At the invitation of Dr Alessio De Cristofaro, Director of the Central Institute for the Economic Enhancement and Promotion of Cultural Heritage (IC-VEPP), the Museo Ginori contributed to the exhibition project “Archetypes. Traditions, Creativity, Values” by lending a selection of early twentieth-century applied arts works chosen for their ability to anticipate what would later become the culture of Italian design.

On 22 April, the Fondazione Ginori also took part in the programme of talks accompanying the event. Head Curator Oliva Rucellai presented an in-depth talk on “Gio Ponti and the Invention of Made in Italy”, while Communications Manager Consuelo de Gara traced the history of the Ginori manufactory and museum, rereading it as an archetype of the “beautiful, well-made and well-communicated”—the set of values underpinning Made in Italy.
